If you’re planning a Taylor Swift themed party I’ve got you covered! My 6 year old wanted a Taylor Swift birthday and honestly I was a little nervous at first because I wouldn’t call myself a “Swiftie”. I didn’t know exactly how to go about it. After reaching out to a few of my friends who knew more than me (and Pinterest) we were able to put together the cutest party for my Swiftie lover.

Planning a Taylor Swift themed party is seriously so much fun! I quickly realized that being a Taylor Swift fan can unite women and girls together. From the bracelets, heart glasses, and accessories to the singing and dance parties. It really was a blast!

Taylor Swift Themed Party Activities

DIY Microphones

Given that I was planning a Taylor Swift themed party for my 6 year old, I wanted to make sure it was child friendly in the best ways. These activities can be adapted however for older girls as well. For example using the stickers to decorate water bottles instead. I found these incredible Taylor Swift water bottle stickers on Amazon and we used them to create these fun DIY microphones. We used foam balls wrapped in foil for the top, toilet paper rolls, and foam paper for the silver glittery top. You can find all of the supplies linked here.

Taylor Swift Themed Party Friendship Bracelets

If you’re having a Taylor Swift themed party you definitely need to make friendship bracelets or have guests come with bracelets to trade. We made bracelets using pony beads for these 6 year olds and added in some letter beads so they could personalize them. Supplies linked here.

Photo Prop Backdrop

I absolutely loved this fun photo backdrop with the fun sunset colors. I finally decided to buy this affordable photo prop stand to use for all of my girls birthdays and it was well worth it. Adding balloons and taking polaroid photos of the birthday girl with her guests was an absolute must. I took two pictures of each guest with the birthday girl. One for her to keep, and one to go home with the guest. It was the perfect way to capture the guests at the party.

DIY stage and Karaoke

Probably the highlight for my girls was the fun disco lights, stage, and karaoke set up we had for them to sing all of their favorite Taylor Swift songs. They loved walking the stage runway and felt like a pop star. We moved our couches and used our two nugget comforts to complete this fun stage set up. We added in a wireless microphone so the girls could rock the stage.

Friendship Bracelet Donut Bracelets

The food was also fun. My girls ages 9, 7, and 6 loved helping me make these donut bracelets. They were the perfect addition to our Taylor Swift themed party! All you do is use some frosting gel to adhere the smarties to the donuts. We used a food grade pen to add lyrics, album, and song titles to the smarties. We then added chunky sprinkles to complete the bracelet look. You can find all of the supplies linked here.

Lavender Haze Drink

Next we added in a grape flavored drink with the words “lavender haze” in vinyl to our clear drink dispenser for a fun Taylor Swift themed drink. My 9 year old loved telling us she was drinking “Lavender Haze” all week long.

Charcuterie Board

We decided to keep it simple with a charcuterie board for the 6 year olds. That way they could pick and choose what they would really eat. There were a lot of Taylor Swift themed party charcuterie board ideas on Pinterest that I loved. I linked some I found on Pinterest for you here.

Taylor Swift Themed Party Must-Haves

If you’re having a Taylor Swift themed party you need this fun Taylor Swift cake topper. We simply bought a cake from Wal-Mart. Added the cake topper, and threw on disco balls to enhance the Taylor Swift theme. These gift bags were perfect for their goodie bags along with some candy bracelets, heart shaped sunglasses, and a disco ball twisty straw. This Taylor Swift “Happy Birth-Tay” card was the perfect touch.

Having a polaroid camera is also a must. We took two photos of the birthday girl with each one of her guests. One for the birthday girl to keep and one for the guest to take home. We also added backstage passes with their names personalized that the guests put on when they came into the party. The girls added their polaroid photo into their backstage passes. We also had face/hair glitter as an option for guests to put on when they arrived. The girls loved the added sparkles. Of course a microphone and/or a karaoke machine is another must. We used this machine that had lights and added some more lights with this super cheap light machine.

I found this free birthday invitation template on Canva and it was the perfect addition to our Taylor Swift themed party.
