Infant/Toddler

Although there is an infant/toddler section, keep in mind there are some toys that would be great for infant and toddlers in the other sections as well, for example the musical instruments and the climber. So make sure to scroll through the entire list!

(a) Soft Ball Pit one of the things we constantly pull out is our balls and ball pit. This soft ball pit is perfect for an infant or toddler to play in! (b) Wooden Baby Gym I never loved the look of baby gyms so I made my own that looked similar to this one. It cost me about the same, but with more work! This one is amazing and the price is right. (c) Plan Toys Car this little car is amazing. It’s created so it retracts for small hands. It also is difficult to tip over. Perfect for infants and toddlers! (d) Wooden Rattle this little wooden rattle is basic and beautiful. (e) Plan Toys Stacking Rocket this stacking rocket creates an extra element of critical thinking compared to your regular rainbow stacking toy. (f) Rainbow Stacker this basic rainbow stacker is a must for all infants and toddlers. It’s often my go to baby gift. Your child will not only be able to work on their color recognition, but compare and contrast sizes and order sequence as well! (g) Swan Rocker this swan rocker is gorgeous and the perfect little rocker for your baby. (h) Plan Toys Beehive this beehive is one of our all time favorites! It’s color sorting, fine motor and blocks all in one! (i) Shape Sorter Cube this is another one of my favorite baby gifts to give, because it’s so developmental! Your child will work through problem solving, shape recognition, and color sorting with this one! (j) PlanToys Roller This roller is perfect for auditory and sensory exploration. (k) Plus Plus Toys Large Blocks with Pattern Cards this set is perfect for toddlers! The pattern cards help your child know where to place their plus plus toys and the pieces are larger for small hands. (l) Plan Toys Keys These keys are well made and durable. I’m all about the wood toys, and this one comes in pastel colors as well! (m) Duck Pull Toy ever infant/toddler needs a pull toy in their life and this one comes with an extra baby duck that is adorable.

Blankets: You can’t go wrong with a super soft cuddly blanket and our absolute all time favorite blankets are from Saranoni. They are super soft and their black Friday sale starts now! Grab one for yourself while you’re there!

Stuffed Animals are the best comfort item for your kids, and Manhattan Toy has some of the cutest ones at an affordable price! I mean you have to check out the one I linked, it’s adorable! If you’re looking for an even cheaper option we have this little lamb from Mary Myer and its one of our absolute favorites and washes well!

Bannor Toys the quality of Bannor Toys is incredible and they have so many pieces that you will be sure to love for your little one.

Wooden Camera this wooden camera is also a kaleidoscope! I bought this one for my 21 month old who is always pretending to take pictures. It’s a little larger than a lot of the wooden cameras out there which make it easier for small hands to play with.

Heirloom Kids Lawnmower This is one of my girls absolute favorite toys! I always liked the concept of the toy lawnmowers (or vacuums), but I never liked the look of the plastic one. This one is gorgeous and will last you years!

Pottery Barn Rockers These rockers are adorable and soft! They have a variety of animals to choose from and you can’t go wrong with any of them!

Large Motor

This climber from Wiwiurka is one of our absolute favorites!

(a) Balance Bike I am always amazed at the children that start with a balance bike and how easily they transition straight to a two wheel bike! This wooden one from Kinderfeet comes in multiple colors and is gorgeous! (b) Sandbox Digger If you have a sandbox, you have to get this sandbox digger! It will work their muscles as they maneuver the digger around the sandbox. (c) Kinderfeet Tricycle If the balance bike isn’t your think (or your kids), this tricycle from Kinderfeet is another excellent option! (d) Stepping Stones these stepping stones might not look like much, but trust me, kids love them! They help them work on their balance and coordination with their various heights. Create a trail with them or pretend the floor is hot lava and they can only go on the stepping stones! Your kids will love them! (e) Kinderfeet Balance Board I have shared our balance board from Wiwiurka that we absolutely love, however they are out of stock for the time being and this balance board by Kinderfeet is an excellent option as well! The open ended play is endless! (f) PlasmaCar I first bought a plasma car before I even had children! When I was teaching preschool I immediately saw what a hit these swivel cars were and knew we needed one. It’s hands down one of our most used ride on toys. (g) Three Wheel Scooter these three wheel scooters are awesome and come in a million colors! (that’s an exaggeration, but they come in a lot!) (h) Pewi Walking Ride On Toy This strange looking bike is perfect for infants and toddlers on up! The wheels move in every direction making it easy for an infant or toddler to get around without getting frustrated. (i) Foam Pogo Jumper This pogo jumpers are so interesting! They have quickly become a hit and if you get this one I think you’ll see why! (j) Step 2 Up and Down Roller Coaster Ride On If you have a little extra space in your yard, this ride on track is so cool! Kids love going down this thing over and over again! (k) Pop Up Tent and Tunnel We bought this pop up tent a few years ago and the girls love whenever we pull it out! We love adding balls to ours!

Nugget Comfort Unfortunately this one is out of stock, but I still wanted to add it to the list so you can refer back to it when looking for gifts throughout the year! My girls are ALWAYS pulling off our couch cushions to jump on, build forts with etc. so this Nugget Comfort is the perfect way to keep them from using your couch cushions. The play ideas are endless!

Indoor Swing As soon as we buy a house I am buying an indoor swing! My girls are far too active not to have more large motor activities in our home. This one is beautiful for indoor or outdoor use.

Antsy Pants Tumbling Mat If you’re little one is into climbing and tumbling like mine are then this mat is a perfect thing to put out for them to go crazy on! Pair your mat with a Antsy Pants Balance Beam and you’re ready to get your gymnastics on!

Wiwiurka If you’ve been following me on Instagram on my @purposefultoys account, you know how much I love Wiwiurka. We have their climber and balance board and are soon getting a rocker to pair with our climber, and as soon as I get a house I am getting their trapeze as well! Unfortunately they are also out of stock of most of their items, but I wanted to link it for you for when they come back in stock! They are amazing and worth the investment.

Pretend Play

(a) Dollhouse I have had my eye on this dollhouse for awhile and finally decided my three girls just needed it! Or maybe mom just really wanted it, either way I am so excited to give it to my girls this year for Christmas! (b) Goldilocks and the Three Bears Nesting Dolls I found these little nesting dolls at Homegoods and I was so excited! We have a wooden nesting dolls set that my girls have always loved playing with and this Goldilocks and the Three Bears set was so adorable I couldn’t resist! (c) Dress Ups Some of our favorite dress-ups have been found on amazon! The price is reasonable and the quality is better than a lot of dress-ups you can find in your local stores. (d) Make Up Set We initially made the mistake of buying a plastic makeup set that broke throughout the years, so we ended up buying this wooden one from Hape and it is such a hit! Everyone loves playing with this one when they come visit. (e) Play Kitchen There are so many play kitchen’s out there and you probably can’t go wrong with a lot of them, this is the one that we have had for the past three years and my girls use it daily! (f) Felt Food We have a variety of felt food from Melissa and Doug and Etsy, but the felt food from AntsyPants has been the cheapest felt food I have found! (g) Kid’s Furniture This set is adorable! We have two of the chairs and have loved them! We can’t wait to get the table some day as well! (h) Kitchen Mixer I was looking at a variety of mixers and ultimately thought the price point and aesthetics on this one was my favorite! (i) Pretend Food We love getting a variety of pretend food, but if you’re just starting out this set is amazing! My girls learned their food groups from this set. The wooden boxes are also the perfect size to add to your play kitchen refrigerator. (j) Farm Animal Peg Dolls I found these farm animal peg dolls at Target and was beaming! They are adorable and much cheaper than a lot of peg dolls out there! (Note: I put the picture on there from amazon, just because I found one, but they are cheaper if you get these from Target!) (k,m) Puppets I honestly can’t believe how affordable Melissa and Doug Puppets are! The quality is amazing and the price point is just right. We have collected a lot of these guys over the years and they help us read stories sometimes at bedtime. (l) Animal Figures are a great way to have small world play. Our favorite are animals from Safari Ltd. They pay attention to detail and have the main characteristics that the actual animals have, opening up conversations for learning and discovery.

Peg Dolls Tiffany’s peg dolls are amazing and my girls are obsessed with them! We have collected quite a few, and even have some personalized family peg dolls! They love playing with their own dolls, and I can’t wait to have them use them in our new dollhouse!

Wooden Playground Set for Dolls I have been on a hunt for a doll sized slide and this handmade one is incredible and even comes with more play ground set options!

Grocery Cart My girls use this cart every single day and I’m not even exaggerating that one. They love it and it was definitely worth the money! We initially had a metal one and they bent the metal, this wooden one is a lot more durable and it’s beautiful!

Wooden Retro Telephone These wooden phones from Merci Milo are adorable! Ah! I thought I was done with my Christmas shopping, but I think my girls need that pink one! Yup, it comes in black, pink or yellow!

Wooden Tea Set I have a wooden tea set from a shop that is no longer open, so I have been on a hunt for one I love ever since. This wooden one is gorgeous! We play with our wooden tea set daily and I’m sure yours will be used frequently as well!

Mixed Texture Animals How fun are these?! I love the mixed texture on these animals. I can’t wait to get some for our home.

Skandico Toys Tea Set If you want to add a little more character to your tea set this one is incredible! The colors are so fun!

Skandico Toys Colorful Trees I have quickly become a fan of this shop, just look at this beautiful colored wooden trees. My mind immediately thinks of The Lorax and I’m obsessed!

Cars

(a) Candylab Toys I have quickly become a fan of these little cars! They are hands down much cuter than a lot of the other toy car options out there. I bought three of the food trucks for each of my girl’s stockings this year and I can’t wait! (b) Waytoplay Road I have been searching for a road track like this one! I am obsessed with the versatity of this track. whether you want to play inside on the carpet or wood floor or take it outside on the beach, in the water, or on the grass this track can withstand it all! How fun is that?! I will definitely be getting this track to go with our cars! (c) Dump Truck I think every one just needs a solid dump truck. Especially for sand and dirt play! (d) Blue Track Oh man, I can’t even describe to you how fun this track is! I promise I will post a video of this one soon so you can get the full effect! This track is massive. We love to pair it with some Hot Wheels and run it down our stairs or up and over the couch! (e) Tinkerton Wooden Cars these wooden cars are the perfect cars for small hands! I love the simplicity of them. (f) Train Track everyone needs a good train track, and this set won’t dissapoint! (g) Train Set Get this awesome train set for this price point to go with your train track! (h) Large Wooden Cars These cars are perfect for infants and toddlers! (i) Plan Toys Parking Garage We are obssed with our parking garage from plan toys (pictured above). The quality is amazing and it’s so beautiful it’s easy to leave it out! (j) Hape Car This car is incredible! The doors actually open up, and it’s the perfect car to pair with your peg dolls! (k) Race and Play Parking Garage This garage would go beautifully with the Waytoplay road. I love the simple black and wood features on it.

Wooden Construction Trucks If I could have all wooden toys I probably wood (see what I did there, haha). I’m also a tiny bit obsessed with construction trucks.

Handmade Wooden Cars These cars are so fun and perfect for adding a doll to ride along in it! This seller sells three colors of this small car.

Big Little Noise Firetruck Okay, yes. I love everything about this large wooden firetruck! It’s beautiful and I totally wouldn’t mind it being left out on my floor.

Wooden Ride-On Truck How fun is this?! It’s so large its totally acceptable and encouraged for your little one to ride on it!

Musical Instruments

(a) Melissa and Doug Music Set this is the perfect starting set to your musical instruments collection. All three of my girls love playing with this set! (b) Nino African Style Drum I think a traditional looking drum is a must! We got ours from Fiji, but this drum from Nino is gorgeous and you’re sure to love it! (c) Djeco Toys Piano how fun is this piano? It’s more like a real piano than a lot of toy pianos to get your little one started on the right foot. (d) Manhattan Toy Llama this musical llama is adorable and has so many fun elements to it! (e) Hape Harp we are big fans of Hape around here and this harp is beautiful! If there’s one thing I know about Hape it’s that they quality is perfect and the price is never too crazy! (f) Plantoys Drum Set Plan Toys is another one that we are just fans of. Their products are created with development in mind. This little drum set is the perfect size for your little drummer. (g) Bonaok Wireless Microphone This one is for the kids that are getting a little bit older. My five year old in particular would be all about this wireless microphone! (h) Nino Percussion Wooden Cabasa All about it. That is all. (i) Xylophone with Whistle The quality of this xylophone surprised me! it’s incredible and the price wasn’t even bad! Plus they throw in this adorable eagle whistle. I was so pleased with this find! (j) Rhythm Sticks Everyone needs some rhythm sticks in their musical life! There’s so much you can do with them!

Merci Milo Accordion We bought this accordion for my five year old’s birthday and I can’t wait to give it to her in a few hours! I obviously had to try it out, and it’s incredible! The sound is amazing! She is going to love it!

Merci Milo Guitar How gorgeous is this guitar?! And they have two more in different colors!! Oh my goodness! It’s amazing. You should probably just add Merci Milo onto your list of favorite shops now.

Educational Gifts

Okay, let’s be real, all things can be educational and developmental on this list haha, but I didn’t know what else to call this section.

(a) Hape Alphabet Puzzle We use our alphabet puzzles in SO MANY activities it’s amazing how endless the play options are! This is perfect for letter recognition. (Tip: add the upper case letters onto your puzzle with sharpie so they can start associating upper and lower case letters together). (b, e) Safari Ltd Life Cycle Toys I honestly can’t believe how cheap these life cycle toys are! We love them so much we own five different sets and plan on getting all of them at some point. You can find them on their site or on amazon they are also in Michaels stores. (c) Pattern Blocks We love these pattern blocks with the associating pattern cards! I think some parents shy away from buying things like this for their kids because they don’t think it’s fun, but you will find that your kids will LOVE playing with these educational shapes and cards! (d) Plan Toys Number Tiles with Sign Language I love that plan toys created number tiles with sign language on them. The quality is amazing! (f) Plan Toys Number Tiles with Picture I listed these picture number tiles as well because I love the counting component of these ones! (g) Learning Resources Mathlink Cubes we use these mathlink cubes in so many activities! My girls love to try to measure everything in the house with these inch cubes! They also have centimeter cubesas well! (h) Hape Number Puzzle We love our number puzzle as well! For some ideas on how you can use your puzzles check out the “Play” section of the blog! (i) Melissa and Doug Puzzles in a Box These are the perfect beginning puzzles! This set comes with four wooden puzzles for your little one to explore with. (j) Hape Supermaze These toys will always catch a child’s interest! Heck it catches my interest! (k, l) Microscope with Slides How cool is this! My five year old would be all about taking a closer look into the world around her. We’re saving up for this one! (m) Eggspressions by Hape I love anything product that helps children with their emotions! I actually made my own eggspression eggs, and trust me you should just buy this set instead of your own. They are adorable and affordable.

Odin and Parker Word Kit I am so sad that this one is out of stock, but I linked it for future use because it’s just too good! I want one so bad, and you better believe I’m going to snag one when they come back in stock. I mean how incredible is this?!

Wooden Math Board This is another gorgeous fun one to have on hand. The possibility of extension activities and elements you could add to this one are endless!

Odin and Parker Counting Trays This one is similar to the one above, but I think it would be so fun to have this out on a play shelf for your child to have access to whenever they want to add pieces to count. It really creates a learning through play atmosphere.

Odin and Parker Weather Station This is adorable! And what a hands on way to talk about weather! Odin and Parker is a little more pricey, but you can’t deny how amazing their pieces are!

Tinkerton Toys Puzzle We love love love our puzzle from Tinkerton toys! This is one that is a little more difficult that your standard puzzle that has a layout, so it help your child use their critical thinking skills, but once they get it they will want to do it again and again! Plus it’s gorgeous!

Wooden Pattern Board This is another one of our family favorites! My girls love the pattern cards and the wooden balls that come with this pattern board. It also comes with a pair of wooden tweezers!

Skandico Toys Lion Puzzle Okay, this is amazing! This shop as quickly become one of my favorites and the shipping is FREE!

Skandico Toys Apple Stacker This shop has a variety of stackers. We love the stacking puzzles and this apple one is beautiful!

Big Little Noise Alphabet Tracing Tile Set I have seen people do so many cool things with tracing letters. You could do impressions with dough, rub crayon over them, place colored salt inside, add balls or beads to create the letters. The possibilities are endless! What a fun teaching tool to have on hand!

Blocks

(a) Melissa and Doug Block Set If you need a good starter block set this one is it! It’s the perfect wooden block set and it will last you a life time! (b) Plus Plus Toys We love our plus plus toys and are always adding more! They are the perfect toy to throw in the diaper bag and have an activity on the go. I linked this tube because it could also be the perfect stocking stuffer! (c) Lincoln Logs remind me of my child hood. I loved playing with toy horses and Lincoln Logs were my go to building structure for them. In fact, the Lincoln Logs we have are the ones from my childhood! They will last you forever and are so fun! (d) Biobuddi Blocks I am so impressed with these building structure sets. The animals are adorable and the pattern cards scaffold your child step by step so they can be successful. They also are compatible with lego sets! (e) Legos are incredible. The creativity and ingenuity children (and adults) use with legos never cease to amaze me. Everyone needs some good legos and this is a great starter set if you have yet to get some. (f) Castle Blocks I was so excited with this find! I could collect different block sets and these castle ones are so fun! They work perfectly with our kingdom peg doll set! (g) Picasso Tiles My brother gave Picasso Tiles to our family three years ago for Christmas and they are still some of our all time favorite blocks to play with! Everyone in our family loves playing with these blocks regardless of age!

Sunshine and Pine Rainbow Stacker I am so impressed with this shop. The owner works hard to make sure the pieces are well done. She handcrafts everything herself which means she sells out fairly quickly. So make sure you snag what you want fast! (The castle pictured below is also from this shop but will be back in stock soon!)

Boho Gypsy Wood Set This is also from the shop I mentioned above. I love the natural colors on this set! Her pieces are beautiful!

Rock Blocks We love rock blocks! The different sides create a fun element of difficulty that requires a careful hand, balance and concentration.

Skandico Toys Building Blocks Set I am obsessed with this set and am dying to add it to our block collection! The variety of shape and colors make this set interesting and beautiful!

Other Finds

(a) Silks Streamer My girls love playing with silks and materials. This seller has so many silk options that your child will love to twirl with, explore with and be creative with. (b) Drill with Pattern Cards one of our favorite toys from Lakeshore learning is our drill and pattern cards. It comes with 20 different patterns to follow! It makes them concentrate and have to follow directions, but is so much fun! The one pictured is from amazon and is a different brand, but same concept. (c) Small Digital Camera We gave a blue version of this camera to my 5 year old on her fourth birthday and it was her favorite gift! She still takes this little camera with her everywhere! My 3 year old has been asking for one ever since so we finally bought her this pink one for Christmas! I love that it’s a simple digital camera, not games, just pictures! (d) Marble Run A marble run is another one that reminds me of my childhood. They are addicting! And such a fun family activity. (e) Djeco Golf Set One of my girls favorite toys was a plastic golf set from walmart that their grandma gave them. They loved it! But of course it broke and we had to throw it away, I have been on a hunt for a good set ever since! I found this one and was so excited about the wooden golf clubs! The other pieces are pretty crappy if I’m being honest, but the price for the clubs alone was worth it to me! (This set is absolutely gorgeous, but at a much higher price point) (f) Mr and Mrs Potato Head everyone needs a mr and mrs potato head! We love using the pieces in play dough or even real potatoes! So silly. (g) Pop Beads Jewelry Making Kit My kind of jewelry making kit is one where parent involvement is not required! This one is it! Plus the pieces are a bit larger and there aren’t endless amounts of tangled string everywhere! (h) Play Dough Tools I’m always on a hunt for some good play dough tools, and these ones are amazing and you can’t beat the price! (i) Wooden Lacing Apple With Worm how fun is this?! I love lacing activities, but too often they don’t last because they are made out of paper or cardboard. This one is made out of wood and I love that they were creative enough to have the worm weave in and out of the apple as if it’s the one creating those little holes, so clever. (j) Plan Toys Dentist Set both of my brothers are dentists, my uncle was a dentist and my grandfather so naturally when I saw this dentist set I was swooning! Its adorable and plan toys is always so good. (k) Wooden Tape Dispenser; Call it weird or completely genius to add a colorful tape roll to your Christmas toy list, I’ll let you decide!

Gathre World Map Mat We just got our Gathre world mat and I already have so many uses for it in my head! Make sure you’re following over @purposefultoys to see how I extend learning through play with this one! It’s beautiful and educational, my kind of product.

Wooden Bow and Arrow Okay, how fun is this? I can only imagine the little toys we would line up as target practice with this one! Seriously how fun!

Wooden Sling Shot We have a wooden sling shot just like this one that we use to knock over our magnetic tiles with. Endless amounts of play, but be careful because mom and dad may take over on this one!

Art and Play Light Table We love our light table from Art and Play! We use it with painting, sensory and blocks! Something that truly enhances so many senses at once!

Marble Tree and Wood Marbles This is AMAZING, and you won’t believe how incredibly addicting the sound is on this one with the wood clanking on each other. Its beautiful and something that will entertain your child for a long time!

(a) Hookey Game A safe alternative to a dart board for kids! It’s basically a ring toss game! How fun is that?! (b) Guess Who? I mean you probably know this one, but man how fun is this to play with your child. We’re all about connection and games are a fun way of doing that! (c) Classic Card Games Set We got a similar card game set and its one of my girls favorite things to pull out and play together! It’s a special thing I do with my oldest when the babies are napping and she looks forward to picking the different card games. (d) Battleship Such a perfect game to play with your child who is learning their letters and numbers! (e) Go Go Gelato This is such a cute ice cream pattern and balancing game! Your kids are going to love it! (f) Candyland young children love Candyland, and its the perfect game for a two year old to practice counting and colors. (g) Sequence is basically a larger scale tic-tac-toe game. Such a fun one for children and adults! (h) Jenga is perfect for young children through adults and a great family game for a variety of ages! (i) Uno Again a game that can help your young child develop those number, color, order and turn taking skills!
